BID ALL-NORO!

In case anyone hasn't seen this: please check out the auction of the all-Noro quilt. All proceeds go to Afghans for Afghans, and the price is climbing to astronomical heights! If you've got a spare $700 lying around that you want to spend on a great cause, chuck it over there. For more information, see the lovely ladies at Mason-Dixon Knitting. I grew up on the Mason-Dixon line (about 20 yards from it, on the south side), so their blog title always makes me feel a little nostalgic.

I've just received a package of yarn from the fantastic Jiva, and am now faced with the task of making something with it. I think it's going to turn into a present for a friend's new baby girl.

Today is Cleaning Day here at Casa Specs. I MUST get my papers and books organized and off the floor. The cat has discovered that he loves to chew on paper and has consequently been dragging sheets all over the place, making our clutter look much messier than it actually is. We've also got so much stuff. Whoever designed this apartment made it with one too few closets, just to spite us. I'm considering taking a sledgehammer and knocking one of the walls open so we can store stuff in there. Sure, the landlord wouldn't like it, but we could live like sprawling kings! squirrels!

Honestly,

After 20+ years of living in an old house with just about zero closet space, I thought you would be use to it.

But then again, it is still a pain in the arse.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? :)

Although we did get a lot of stuff put away. It was just a matter of putting the books on the bookshelf instead of in their convenient pile on the floor.

Also: lots of vacuuming. This place is dusty like you would not believe
